TVT Sling Complications: Difficulty Urinating

Sling complications can also be attributed to the TVT sling. Approximately 1-2% of patients can have can have partial obstruction of the urethra causing difficulty emptying their bladder or complete obstruction resulting in urine retention ie. one’s ability to empty the bladder at all. A simple sling release can often remedy the problem. Please see video. (see treatment section).
